From entering to leaving in 5 minutes through lightning-fast self ordering

Overview

As a business incubator creating branding identities for various startups, managing and sharing branding assets across platforms like email and Google Drive was challenging and inefficient. To streamline this, we developed a Digital Asset Management (DAM) platform focused on simplicity.

I played a key role in designing a smart file naming solution and creating the design system, which was adopted across all future projects.

The platform received great feedback from our teams, and clients were thrilled to have an up-to-date, user-friendly repository for their assets.

Inspiration

Japanese Inspired Design

The finished product was created by researching and incorporating features of contemporary Japanese design language.

Modern Japanese Aesthetics

Bright colors, bold typographic elements and a sense of airiness.

Menu Items

Inspired by traditional Japanese wooden sign boards known as kanban (カンバン) with a modern twist.

Designing

Ordering

The ordering process was kept quick and simple. The goal was for it to be completed in as little taps as possible without affecting usability and for the whole visit to take as little as 5 minutes.

Photography

I worked closely with the photographer to ensure the images fit our aesthetic.

Simple Check-Out Process

A quick check-out process consisting of only 3 steps: Reviewing the order, giving it a name and presenting payment.

Order Overview

A quick overview of the order listing the currently selected items.

Bringing it to life through animation

The most important thing for Taki Tate was making the whole experience fun. Animation was used to give the ordering process a sense of warmth that is usually missing in self serving kiosks. We went with a bouncy style that made the interface "pop" to life.
